Commission Approves Future Impact Fees to Fund The Underline
Posted Date: 12/14/2017

The Coral Gables City Commission agreed to direct future impact fees from new developments within 1,000 feet from The Underline to be directed toward funding of this project. This developer funding, projected to be $3 million but no more than $15 million over a 10-year period, will be provided on an as-available basis to Miami-Dade County to cover the cost of the design, development and enhancement of open spaces on the Metrorail right of way from Douglas Road to Granada Boulevard.

This approved resolution does not mean that the City of Coral Gables is making a one-time payment to fund this project but only that developer impact fees will be earmarked for it.

The Underline is set to transform the land below Metrorail into a 10-mile linear park, urban trail and living destination.
